The Laserdisc


The Killing Zoe laserdisc was a huge disapointment when I first came across it. When Artisan was known as Image Entertainment, they put this disc out with the movie only and in pan&scan. The picture quality has much color bleeding and the sound is only o.k. Knowing how Roger and Quentin are both big LD fans, I asked Roger awhile ago what happened to the disc. Basically, Image just didn't care about the movie and made a half-assed pressing just to make some money. Oh well, thats showbusiness. I heard there is a Japanese laserdisc which is far superior, but the Jap subtitles over the French dialogue is preventing me from searching for this disc.

If you can find this LD at a cheap price, you might want to buy it because its probably a little better than the VHS version. Or better yet, just wait for Artisan's upcoming Director's Cut dvd.
